A New York City rapper who joined President Donald Trump during a campaign rally last year has been sentenced to five years behind bars after he admitted he used earnings from his music career to fuel gang violence in Brooklyn. Tegan Chambers, a rapper known as Sleepy Hallow, who performed with Trump and Sheff G at the May 2024 Bronx rally, received a one-year sentence after pleading guilty to a conspiracy charge. The Trump campaign’s spokesperson, Steven Cheung, remarked that the former president’s team was unaware of the charges, though Sheff G claimed, ‘They always whisper your accomplishments and shout your failures.’ Prosecutors allege Sheff G used his wealth to fund gang activities, including lavish dinners for rivals and a 2021 shooting where he allegedly drove three co-defendants to a target but struck two bystanders. He also celebrated a 2020 shooting by treating gang members to a Manhattan steakhouse dinner, according to court documents. Surveillance footage, social media posts, and text messages corroborate these claims, with the rappers’ own lyrics detailing their criminal acts.
